Level 1 - Sauna-Assistent

Level 1 is designed for people who want to build a reliable foundation in sauna safety, health-oriented practice and basic first-aid awareness. It is particularly suitable for employees in sauna, wellness, fitness and leisure facilities, but it also provides valuable knowledge for committed private users who want to take greater responsibility for themselves and others.
The course explains how sauna bathing should be structured safely in everyday practice. Participants learn how heat, cooling and recovery interact, how individual tolerance can vary and which warning signs should never be ignored. They are introduced to the most important principles of responsible guest guidance, including how to recognise when a person should reduce, interrupt or end a sauna session.
A central part of Level 1 is the safe handling of typical sauna situations. This includes basic orientation in cases of dizziness, circulatory problems, overheating, unusual fatigue, anxiety reactions or other signs of discomfort. The course does not replace certified practical first-aid training. However, it provides the theoretical foundation needed to recognise relevant situations early, respond calmly and understand when professional medical support is required.
Participants also gain an introduction to health-oriented sauna practice. They learn why safety is not based on rigid rules alone, but on observation, communication, appropriate dosing and respect for individual limits.
After completing Level 1, participants will have a clear understanding of the essential safety principles of sauna use and will be better prepared to support responsible, calm and health-oriented sauna practice.
